Punctuality
Kathi
She just doesn’t get along with people who don’t like to be at the airport on time. She wants to enter the airport building at least two hours before the flight departs and thereby drives Romeo crazy who prefers to stay in bed for another 30 minutes. It’s not like we already missed numerous flights, no, ahem!
Romeo
His motto: Don’t exaggerate! And after all: We’re almost always on time. Romeo rarely gets stressed by missing an airplane, a bus or a train. And if so, then the situation is desperate anyway.
Tidiness
Kathi
Socks, t-Shirts and other clothes. Kathi doesn’t care – we’re only staying for a couple of days anyway. Kathi and tidiness – two things that don’t match. She rarely tidies up our hotel room.
Romeo
Most of the time it’s Romeo who collects Kathi’s clothes and folds them. “Are you still wearing this shirt?” Kathi must admit that Romeo definitely has the better sense of tidiness.
Sense of direction
Kathi
“We’re going to turn left, then right, then left again.” Kathi definitely has the better sense of direction. Exploring a city without a map? No way. Kathi always plans our itinerary and our city-tours. And Romeo? He is the one who always follows Kathi’s instructions.
Romeo
No, he wasn’t born with a good sense of direction. To be honest: No one in the world has a worse sense of direction than him. Left or tight – most of the time Romeo accidentally finds his way.
Eating habits
Kathi
As soon as the menu arrives, Kathi takes her time to read it carefully. Making decisions isn’t easy – especially not for her. She loves to discover new foods.
Romeo
Day 18 in Thailand and Romeo orders “Red Curry”. For the 30th time. You can hardly believe that Romeo almost always follows his routine. He orders those dishes he knows – no matter if it’s the same dish every day. He also does so when we’re having breakfast at a hotel: His plate is always full of food he’s familiar with.
Internet
Kathi
It’s not a big issue for her to travel without Internet. At least not for a short period of time. Poor wifi-connection? That’s fine. However, internet access can get incredibly important to her as soon as she need to work on some projects.
Romeo
There were those moments when he was standing in front of an Apple store trying to connect to the wifi. There where those hours at Starbucks – not because of the coffee but because he checked his E-Mails. There where those restaurant decisions we made only because of the Internet connection. Yes, it’s true that Romeo has an Internet addiction. Always near by: his MacBook.
Calmness
Kathi
We missed the bus? The hotel is fully booked? If things don’t work out, she quickly becomes desperate. Can you image us two being stranded at Heathrow airport because we missed our flight to New York? Well, she instantly began to cry. Thanks to her tears and to the lovely staff at the airport, we were booked on another flight to New York.
Romeo
He’s the calm one – at least most of the time. There are also moments where he pretends to be calm in order to calm Kathi down.
